为了避免上述情况在高考中出现，在最后的两个多月的复习中，应就基础知识部分的复习加大力度：结合教材，反复复习考纲中要求掌握的词汇、句法结构、语法要点。复习手段不应只是“观其形”，而应该是“眼看、心想、口诵、手写”，力求“眼前一棵树，心中一片林”。

二、定时练习，提高高考应试的技巧
针对高考题型，定时练习是提高高考应试能力和技巧的必要环节。如能每天定时完成一定量的分项练习，如语法、完型或阅读，不但能通过熟悉题型提高单位时间内的做题效率，同时还能更加准确、高效地捕捉考点，从而减轻压力，达到考试时的正常发挥。
建议时间：听力20分钟，英语知识运用（包括单项填空和完型填空）25分钟，阅读理解35分钟，写作（包括短文改错和书面表达）40分钟。当然，在考试时，考生可根据自己的实际情况，适当延长或缩短某一项的用时，但在练习时，希望学生严格按照这个建议时间，以达到练习的目的。
三、查漏补缺，达到基础知识的系统化认真阅读考纲，核对自己基础知识体系的完整性。
如发现有遗漏现象务必及时补救。借助词汇复习以及词和词组的用法，通过联想串联语法考点也是达到基础知识系统化的手段之一。
四、找准症结，攻克难关，提高语言层次
（一）词汇关：考生在做题时总是感觉词汇障碍困扰着他们，这些词汇有的根本不认识，有的是旧词新意，有的是词根派生，有的是词性转换。由于缺乏一定的词汇猜测能力，从而影响了他们对文章的阅读和理解能力，那么，中学生应怎样突破词汇关呢？笔者认为：
1.熟练掌握教材中出现过的所有基本词汇。如遇陌生词汇尽力查找是否有熟悉的词根在里面，再结合语境推测词意。
2.在平时的阅读中滚雪球式地积累词汇。克服只重答题不重词汇积累的毛病。
3.在老师的帮助下集中学习《考试大纲》所列词汇，扩大词汇量。随着高中英语新教材的使用和新课程标准的实施，高考英语词汇量会大大增加。尽早掌握考纲中规定的2000个左右的单词，及相关的词组和对应的合成、转化、派生词等等。
4.在处理词汇表时，首先进行过滤，找出陌生词和重点词，然后反复记忆。对重点词汇和短语，要多造句，在用中记，在语境中记。同学之间相互合作考词汇也是好方法。
（二）语法关：不少学生抱怨说，自己的语法规则背得不少，语法专项题也没少做，但总是在做单项填空时过不了一个坎。综观近年来高考单项填空考试，我们不难发现其特点是把普通语言知识放在丰富多变的题干中来考查，因此考生应在后期的复习中注意以下几点：
1.重点训练那些有具体的上下文、语境丰富、灵活性强的题目，切忌死抠语法条款。
2.要培养自己对题干的分析能力，善于弄清题意，明辨语境。
